John Moore founded MooreLaw PLLC, to focus his practice on consumer protection litigation. John began his legal career as an attorney in northern Pennsylvania, providing comprehensive legal services to victims of domestic violence. This early work shaped his commitment to advocacy and access to justice.

For the majority of his career, John has litigated complex cases at three of the nation's largest and most respected law firms where his practice centered on consumer protection.  In this arena he developed deep, hands on experience with the laws that affect consumers every day.

John has extensive knowledge of federal consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Military Lending Act (MLA), and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). He also regularly litigates claims under state consumer protection laws, such as Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL), Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act (FCEUA), and provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code, as well as related common law contract and tort claims.

Over the course of his career, John has litigated hundreds of cases regarding consumer lending and credit reporting practices. He has represented clients across a wide range of consumer facing industries such as financial services, automobile finance, and education. 

John is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania as well as various United States District Courts.  He earned his B.A. from Waynesburg University and his J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law.  He resides in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife, daughter, and two rambunctious cats.
